Overview
Freshly Dropped helps users discover recipes and instantly order the exact ingredients they need, removing the friction between “I want to cook” and actually getting started.

It bridges the gap between inspiration and execution by turning meals into structured ingredient sets, allowing users to skip manual planning and move straight into cooking with everything they need in one place.
The Problem
Many people want to cook at home more often, but the experience breaks down long before they even start cooking:
→   Deciding what to cook often feels overwhelming
→   Recipes and ingredient lists are usually separated
→   Building a complete shopping list is time-consuming

Design Goals
The system was designed to:
→   Merge recipe discovery and ingredient ordering into one flow
→   Turn recipes into ready-to-order ingredient sets
→   Remove the need for manual meal planning
→   Shorten the path from intent to cooking
→   Reduce overbuying through recipe-based portions
→   Prioritize fast, visual-first browsing
→   Lower friction in everyday home cooking
Research & Insights
The goal of the research phase was to understand where users typically struggle when transitioning from meal intent to actual cooking, and what causes drop-offs between inspiration and execution.

Findings were synthesized from common behavioral patterns in recipe browsing, grocery shopping workflows, and meal planning habits.
Key issues
The core breakdown is not lack of intent, but fragmentation in execution
Users need a way to convert “I want to cook this” into immediate readiness
Reducing translation work (recipe → ingredients → shopping list) is critical to improving completion rates
Modular content improves perceived accessibility
Design
Approach
The visual direction focused on creating a modern yet welcoming experience that feels fresh, approachable, and food-centric. Bright imagery, soft spacing, and clean typography were used to make the platform feel less transactional and more lifestyle-oriented.

The goal was to make cooking feel exciting rather than complicated.
The UI is clean, fresh, and inviting—using a soft, earthy color palette to reflect freshness and sustainability. Large, high-quality images of ingredients make the browsing experience engaging, while intuitive navigation keeps the ordering process smooth. A focus on simplicity ensures that users can complete their order in just a few taps, making the experience as seamless as possible.
From inspiration to ingredients, instantly.
